UR Code Demo & Testing
Learn how to generate and scan a UR Code, as well as use some of the features that are unique to the UR Code SDKs.
To learn more about UR Codes, please see Introduction to UR Codes.
Create a Demo UR Code
Before starting with the UR Code SDKs, it is recommended that Your Team first create a UR Code with the UR Code Generator Demo.
The UR Code Generator Demo creates Test-Only UR Codes with a 2D Image and Metadata that you provide. When it is being generated, the UR Code is signed using FaceTec's Private Testing Key to ensure Digital Signature Verification can be performed when the UR Code is scanned with a Smart Device's Camera, the UR Code Scan+Match App, or the UR Code SDKs.
Scan a UR Code
UR Codes utilize Quick Response (QR) Encoding, which means any device capable of scanning a QR Code can also scan a UR Code. All Modern Smart Devices can scan a UR Code with their Built-In Camera. For more information on Built-In Camera Support for UR Codes, please see UR Code Device Compatibility.
UR Code Scan+Match App
The UR Code Scan+Match App is a Free App that has native support for scanning UR Codes, validating Digital Signatures, retrieving and displaying Stored Metadata/PII, and performing In-Person Matching against a User's Live 2D Face with the Device's Front or Rear Camera. The UR Code Scan+Match App also includes features such as Offline Digital Signature Validation and UR Code Scan History.
The UR Code Scan+Match App is available both on the Android Google Play Store and the Apple App Store (see the links below).

UR Code 2D:2D Matching
When 2D:2D Matching is performed, the UR Code Scan+Match App checks to see if the encoded 2D Face Data matches against the scanned Face. FaceTec's Matching Algorithms run On-Device and can return Matches with confidences up to 99.999% (i.e., a 1 in 100,000 FAR) with a False Rejection Rate (FRR) of less than 1%. For more information about 2D:2D Matching, please see UR Code 2D:2D Matching.
Offline Digital Signature Validation
UR Codes contain a Digital Signature that can be used to verify the contents of a UR Code and to confirm that the UR Code originated from the same Issuing Authority whose website is stored in the UR Code. When the UR Code Scan+Match App has internet access, it will reach out to the URL specified in the UR Code and check for the Public Key hosted on the Issuing Authority's website. During this process, the Public Key is downloaded and saved onto the Device's cache, so any UR Code from that Issuing Authority can later be scanned offline.
To test the Offline Functionality of the UR Code Scan+Match App, first, scan a UR Code while connected to the internet. Afterwards, disconnect your device from the internet and attempt to scan the UR Code again. The cached Public Key for that Issuing Authority will allow the UR Code to still be validated even though the device lacks internet access at that time.
